Emergency First Aid at Work
Overview
The Emergency First Aid at Work course covers the following:
- The role of the first aider
- Contents of first aid kits (including avoiding cross-infection)
- Communicating with a casualty
- Recording of incidents and accidents
- Assessing the situation in order to act safely and effectively in an emergency
- Administer first aid to a casualty who:
- is unconscious (including seizures)
- requires cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- is choking, wounded or bleeding
- is in shock
- has minor conditions such as minor cuts, grazes and bruises, burns, scalds and small splinters
